Fun time with play dough

Standard

As salam,

play doughBudak2 memang suka main plastesin (betoi ke ejaaan ni?) kan? Zaman sekarang budak2 panggil play dough. Commercial la sikit ;). Main play dough sangat bagus untuk muscle development. Especially untuk budak2 umur around 3 yrs and above. Nanti otot jari akan jadi lembut, senang nak belajar pegang pensil and writing and coloring. Plus it comes in different colors. Boleh ajar diorang pasal colors, bila campur2 colors nanti the colors will turn to other colors pulak. Make them becomes creative, nanti kita sendiri pun tak dapat imagine shapes apa yang diorang akan buat. Mummy maybe ajar buat ular je, tiba2 anak buat dinosaur terus. Haaa tak ke surprise!!! Masa tu kat dalam hati memang akan rasa bangga sangat. Pandainya anak aku… Terus sebak semacam, nak nangis pulak sebab terharu. Huhuhu… Tapi kan rega play dough in the supermarket is quite expensive. Bila nak beli pikir banyak kali sebab nanti bila dah campur2 color dah tak cantik nak main. Hilang sana sini, habis pakai. Mula la rasa tak nak bagi main.

Hmm.. I’ve got a solution. Jom kita buat playdough sendiri. Murah je. Boleh buat selalu. And their 100% save. Found the recipe from this blog The Fabolous Moms Guide. Thanks to the authors. Here’s the recipe:

1 cup plain flour

1/2 cup of salt

2 tablespoons of cream of tartar (optional)

1 tablespoons of cooking oil

Food coloring

Glitter (optional)

Peppermint oil (optional)

1 cup of boiling water

1 child or more if you have them – I got 3 at home. hihihi

Method:

Put all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix. As soon as it starts to bond together and is hard to mix, take it out of the bowl throw it on a board and knead until it takes on the look and consistency of play dough. It will be hot when you take it out of the bowl so be careful.

This recipe is great if you’re planning on making a couple of batches in different colors but if your just making one batch you can quite happily double the amounts.

Don’t worry if you have no cream of tartar  it makes the play dough more elastic but you can still make this play dough recipe  without cream of tartar. Also I have found that while liquid food colorings work fine, Gel food coloring produces a brighter more vivid color.

Next hand it all over to a happy toddler and see what they create.

Senang saja kan? Boleh la try nanti.
