Jangan kacaula, tengah STRESS ni!

Standard

As salam,

Harini nak recap bout stress. Favourite word ni. stress

SITUATION 1

Orang datang kat meja kita nak tanya something tiba2 kena marah, “Ko jangan kacau aku boleh tak? Aku stress ni, deadline petang ni, bos nak itu ini, ko ni pulak nak menyibuk kat sini. bla bla bla…..”

SITUATION 2

Tengah2 sibuk masak kat dapur, mak mertua nak datang lagi sejam, tiba2 dengar bunyi bising kat living room. Pegi tengok,  tiba2 nampak vase kaca favourite pecah berderai. Anak kesayangan umur 2 tahun berdiri tegak kat tepi vase tu. Pangggg…. tergolek anak kecik tu kena penampar. Berbekas kat pipi, anak tergolek kat atas lantai.

SITUATION 3

Si suami tengah driving, wife keep on calling, suruh beli susu anak, suruh balik awal, suruh itu, suruh ini. Husband tak dapat concentrate on driving, hati dah panas, lampu merah pun tak berhenti. Another car coming over, husband end up in the hospital.

Did any of the situation looks familiar to u? Kalau tak jadi kat diri sendiri pun, pernah dengar or baca kat mana maybe. Here’s the outcome of people being stress. Tak boleh fikir dengan betul. In SITUATION 1 for example, kawan dia datang kat meja dia terus marah2. Why not u cool down a bit. Mana tahu sebenarnya kawan tu datang nak offer some help, or nak bagitau yang bos cakap the deadline can be delay to tomorrow. Or he just wanna say Hi, jawab jelah Hi and just tell him that ur into something urgent that u’ll catch him up later. Sounds better right?

SITUATION 2, kesian anak kecik tu. Ada 2 possiblities jugak kat sini, anak tu tak sengaja terlanggar vase tu atau memang dia pecahkan. But what do u expect from a small kid? Talk to him softly. Jangan tempered tak tentu pasal.

The wife can wait til the husband reach home in SITUATION 3. Husband is driving, dengar wife pot pet2 kat phone, terus fikiran pun jadi kusut.

Cakap senang kan? Diri sendiri pun selalu jugak stress. Tapi tadi after read through things related to stress, I promised to myself that I have to learn to control myself. Sebab apa tau?

stress1This really scares me. Nauzubillah minzalik. And I found these tips to handle stress.

1. Face it.

2. Eat Healthy Foods

3. Exercise!!!

4. Take a Bath

5. Relaxing Music

6. Pray to Allah

Moms u gotta try this!

Standard

As salam,

I was browsing and I found these. They’re great n helpful. Plus we can help the world through recycle (chewahhhh) ;p. Come on, being a mom means u need to be creative.

ideas

Picture above (macam dalam thesis pulak dah) showing how we can re-use our mineral water bottle. Simply cut the above part, attach to the biscuits, candy or snacks wrapper n re-seal ’em back. Perfect when we’re on the go. Masa balik kampung, stop kat r&r, anak2 beli twisties pastu tak abih makan. Kalau biar kang masuk angin pulak. Ada mineral water yang dah habis, boleh la guna.

ideas1

Hmm… this one untuk yang pakai contact lenses. Basuh bersih2 dulu ye, lepas tu guna utk isi ur pills when u’re on short trips.

ideas2

Pegi hotel mesti dapat shower cap. Jarang pakai pun. This is good idea. Simpan kasut, slippers, sandals.

ideas3

Too bad we’ve thrown away our kids crib. Kalau tak dah boleh jadi working/studying/conteng-ing table for the kids. Mommies out there, check out ur garage or bawah tangga kalau2 ada lagi crib ni ye. 😉

ideas4

Kita cukup tak suka nak bagi anak2 makan ice cream macam ni. Nanti meleleh sana sini. Kalau nak makan jugak it’s either u stay outside ataupun bentang tikar sebesar2 alam. The lapik pulak dengan besen besor. But now, I think they can have it.

ideas5

Every rumah might have this. I bought this walaupun jaranggggg sangat buat telur rebus. So now dah tambah satu lagi kegunaan. Maybe boleh guna utk potong pisang jugak untuk buat banana split kan? I love this idea.

ideas6

Here’s another, when the can is too cold, tak nak pegang. Ataupun takut tertumpah dalam kereta. Put it into another cup.

ideas7

Okay… We buy a lot of pringles or mister potato. But I used the empty can as a tabung. Tapi berapa banyak tabung nak ada kat rumah tu? U can use it to save ur spaghetti.

Boleh tak hidup tanpa hutang?

Standard

As salam,

Hutang… Sensitif isu ni. Boleh ke nak hidup tanpa berhutang? How I wish I could. Kalaula duit den bertingket-tingket, Dari Jolobu sampai Bongek macam lagu Waris ni. Kan ke seronok… kan? kan? Tapi kita syukur lah dengan apa yang ada. Rezeki tu Allah yang bagi. Muhasabah diri balik. Hehehe

Zaman sekarang ni paling kurang pun mesti ada 2 hutang, hutang rumah n hutang kereta. Ermmm… hutang PTPTN? Personal loan? ASB loan? Credit card? Hutang MARA? Ni semua common list le dah kot? Bila ada hutang tido malam pun kadang2 tak lena. Sebab tu dalam Islam kita tak digalakkan berhutang. Tapi… Nak buat macamana kan.

Takpelah kita cuba amalkan doa2 ni setiap kali lepas solat. Dan rajin2 jugak baca surah Al-Waqiah. Sabda  Rasulullah SAW bersabda: “Sesiapa membaca surah Al-Waqiah setiap hari, ia tidak akan ditimpa kefakiran.” Nanti baca link ni tentang kelebihan Al Waqiah.

doadoa1

Jom amalkan. InsyaAllah akan dipermudahkan olehNya.

UTI – Women’s common problem

Standard

As salam,

Cepatnya dah habis weekend. It’s Monday again. Tengok tajuk entry ni, maybe ada yang wonder whay’s UTI? It stands for Urinary Tract Infection ataupun orang panggil dalam bahasa biasa – kencing kotor. Kenapa kita kata women’s common problem? Sebab UTI ni memang orang perempuan yang ramai n selalu kena. Tak kira la budak kecik ataupun orang dewasa. Orang lelaki jarang kena sebab laluan ke salur kencing diorang lebih panjang compared to women.

Tahun ni je kita dah kena warded for 3 times sebab kena UTI. Azabnya sebab kena cucuk kat tangan untuk masukkan drip n antibiotik. Masa bagi sample urine pun kaler urine tu gelap sangat sebab urine full of blood. Dr masukkan drip 2 – 3 botol sehari sebab nak suruh kencing dgn kerap. Nak flush out all the bad bacterias. Imagine la dgn tangan yg berjarum, drip yang tergantung tu asyik nak kena ulang pegi toilet pulak. Bukan sejam sekali, tapi sejam berkali2. Arggghhhhh….

Ok, entry ni adalah untuk bagi some info to all on what is UTI, symptoms and how to treat UTI. I got the info from various sources. Nanti kita bagi some of the links for u guys to refer to.

utiWhat’s UTI?

  • Infections of the urethra, bladder, ureters, or the kidneys, which comprise the urinary tract.
  • E. coli bacteria cause the majority of UTIs, but many other bacteria, fungi, and parasites may also cause UTIs.

What causes UTI?

  • Wiping from back to front after a bowel movement (BM). Germs can get into your urethra, which has its opening in front of the vagina.
  • Having sexual intercourse. Germs in the vagina can be pushed into the urethra.
  • Waiting too long to pass urine. When urine stays in the bladder for a long time, more germs are made, and the worse a UTI can become.
  • Using a diaphragm  for birth control, or spermicides (creams that kill sperm) with a diaphragm or on a condom.
  • Anything that makes it hard to completely empty your bladder, like a kidney stone.
  • Having diabetes, which makes it harder for your body to fight other health problems.
  • Loss of estrogen  and changes in the vagina after menopause. Menopause is when you stop getting your period.
  • Having had a catheter in place. A catheter is a thin tube put through the urethra into the bladder. It’s used to drain urine during a medical test and for people who cannot pass urine on their own.

Symptoms:

  • You feel pain or burning when you urinate.
  • You feel like you have to urinate often, but not much urine comes out when you do.
  • Your belly feels tender or heavy.
  • Your urine is cloudy or smells bad.
  • You have pain on one side of your back under your ribs. This is where your kidneys are.
  • You have fever and chills.
  • You have nausea and vomiting.

Cepat2 pegi jumpa doktor if u think u had an infection and u’re belongs to any of these groups:

  • You have a fever, nausea and vomiting, or pain in one side of your back under your ribs.
  • You have diabetes, kidney problems, or a weak immune system.
  • You are older than 65.
  • You are pregnant.

Please take note that u might not be having all of the symptoms. Macam in my case, takde pun rasa sakit bila urinate, but I commonly have mild fever during late afternoon dengan rasa sakit kat belakang.

How to prevent it?

  • Urinate when you need to. Don’t hold it. Pass urine before and after sex. After you pass urine or have a bowel movement (BM), wipe from front to back.
  • Drink water every day and after sex. Try for 6 to 8 glasses a day.
  • Clean the outer lips of your vagina and anus each day. The anus is the place where a bowel movement leaves your body, located between the buttocks.
  • Don’t use douches or feminine hygiene sprays.
  • If you get a lot of UTIs and use spermicides, or creams that kill sperm, talk to your doctor about using other forms of birth control.
  • Wear underpants with a cotton crotch. Don’t wear tight-fitting pants, which can trap in moisture.
  • Take showers instead of tub baths.

Home remedies

  • Drink lots of water. At least 2L per day
  • Drink cranberry juice. But not the one with lots of sugar (yang banyak jual kat Tesco, Jusco tu). Get the pure juice. I used to buy from GNC. Tapi rasa dia masamm… cranberyy
  • Mix 10 drops of tea tree oil into water. Use that to clean up your vagina.
  • Pineapple. At least a cupfull. Makan raw or buat juice.
  • Apple cider vinegar. Add 2 or 3 teaspoon of it to a glass of water and mix with 1 teaspoon of honey. Drink the mixture 3 times a day.

Well, that’s all of it. Adios

Highlight of the week

Standard

As salam,

Almost the end of the day. Esok weekend, lepas tu start dengan minggu baru. Next week tak tau apa hot story pulak. But here’s some major things happening in my country.

ptptnQuite a hot issue. Luckily I’m not involved. Tak pinjam PTPTN pun dulu. Mula2 Menteri Pendidikan II cakap nak masukkan list peminjam dalam CCRIS. But after some discussions made, it was cancelled. Boleh la baca some stories of it kat sini dan juga sini. Google if u’d like to read further

Second highlight: METALLICA in Malaysia!!! I’m not a big fan. Tapi suka jugak la few songs macam Nothings Else Matters, Unforgiven, Sad But True, Unforgiven II… Tapi takde la sampai nak berabih duit beli tiket. Katanya last performance dema nyanyi lagu raya. Tadi ada nampak a friend of mine share kat FB. Kena cari balik ni.

metallica

Then accident kat Genting Highlands. Melibatkan sebuah bas dan 37 meninggal. Kesian. What a tragedy. Kesian kan wife and kids yang husband dia mati tu. Jalan kat Genting tu memang a bit scary. Drove there few times. Masa nak turun memang rasa macam tak nak bernafas and concentrate kat stering je. Story pasal accident tu boleh baca kat sini.

genting accident

Satu lagi hot story. Dua orang polis yang involve dalam Altantuya punya kes tu dibebaskan. Errrrrrrrr… takmo komen, takmo komen. Baca je lah sendiri ya.

altantuya

Itu je lah for this week. Jom lah kita berdoa banyak2 supaya tak ada lagi berita buruk yang kita akan dengar during this weekend and the following weeks. Enjoy ur weekend.

Fun time with play dough

Standard

As salam,

play doughBudak2 memang suka main plastesin (betoi ke ejaaan ni?) kan? Zaman sekarang budak2 panggil play dough. Commercial la sikit ;). Main play dough sangat bagus untuk muscle development. Especially untuk budak2 umur around 3 yrs and above. Nanti otot jari akan jadi lembut, senang nak belajar pegang pensil and writing and coloring. Plus it comes in different colors. Boleh ajar diorang pasal colors, bila campur2 colors nanti the colors will turn to other colors pulak. Make them becomes creative, nanti kita sendiri pun tak dapat imagine shapes apa yang diorang akan buat. Mummy maybe ajar buat ular je, tiba2 anak buat dinosaur terus. Haaa tak ke surprise!!! Masa tu kat dalam hati memang akan rasa bangga sangat. Pandainya anak aku… Terus sebak semacam, nak nangis pulak sebab terharu. Huhuhu… Tapi kan rega play dough in the supermarket is quite expensive. Bila nak beli pikir banyak kali sebab nanti bila dah campur2 color dah tak cantik nak main. Hilang sana sini, habis pakai. Mula la rasa tak nak bagi main.

Hmm.. I’ve got a solution. Jom kita buat playdough sendiri. Murah je. Boleh buat selalu. And their 100% save. Found the recipe from this blog The Fabolous Moms Guide. Thanks to the authors. Here’s the recipe:

1 cup plain flour

1/2 cup of salt

2 tablespoons of cream of tartar (optional)

1 tablespoons of cooking oil

Food coloring

Glitter (optional)

Peppermint oil (optional)

1 cup of boiling water

1 child or more if you have them – I got 3 at home. hihihi

Method:

Put all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix. As soon as it starts to bond together and is hard to mix, take it out of the bowl throw it on a board and knead until it takes on the look and consistency of play dough. It will be hot when you take it out of the bowl so be careful.

This recipe is great if you’re planning on making a couple of batches in different colors but if your just making one batch you can quite happily double the amounts.

Don’t worry if you have no cream of tartar  it makes the play dough more elastic but you can still make this play dough recipe  without cream of tartar. Also I have found that while liquid food colorings work fine, Gel food coloring produces a brighter more vivid color.

Next hand it all over to a happy toddler and see what they create.

Senang saja kan? Boleh la try nanti.

Weekend project with kids – Part 1 (5 senses)

Standard

As salam,

Just found this useful blog, giving me ideas to make my kids love and understand science better. Guna makanan pulak tu. Credit to the authors of 27 Ways for Kids to Play with Food. Lots of fun and simple activies to do. I’m planning to try the 5 senses test by using ice cream. Actually the main reason for mummy to buy 5 tubs of ice cream for herself. hehehehehe

Here’s the story:

Get 5 different flavor of ice cream. (It can be less, depends on you).

Ice Cream

Place 1 scoop into a labelled cup like this and numbered the cups

cup

Prepare a record sheet. Tak payah fancy2 pun. U’ll be the one who’ll write down everything.

sheet

Cover the flavor parts with stickers

sheet1

Now, let’s the fun time begins. U can blindfold ur kid, or u can just ask them to close their eyes. First, ask them to smell the ice cream. One cup by another. Record their answers in the sheet.

smell

Next, give the a spoon of ice cream to taste. Let them taste it and guess it further. Record their answers in the same sheet

taste

Finally, when they’ve finished, let them open their eyes and ask them to peel of the stickers so that they can compare their answers with the correct one. Tengok diorg dapat teka betul ke tak?

sheet2

As a reward, ask them which is their favourite flavor and enjoy ur ice cream time with kids…

Don’t forget, while ur having ur snack u can describe how their senses work. Macam apa fungsi hidung, lidah. Mintak jugak the kids to describe perbezaan rasa setiap flavor. Tapi janganlah serius sangat ye.

Have fun 🙂
