10 things about lemon that I love

Lemon is an interesting fruit. It’s an all purpose fruit with 1001 usage. I have to say that this a must have fruit in ur fridge. Apart from its extensive use in culinary, it can also provide aid in our household chores. Read the list. lemon

1. Freshen the Fridge
Remove refrigerator odors with ease. Dab lemon juice on a cotton ball or sponge and leave it in the fridge for several hours. Please make sure that u have toss out any malodorous items that might be causing the bad smell.

2.Refresh Cutting Boardslemon1
To get rid of the smell and help sanitize the cutting board, rub it all over with the cut side of half a lemon or wash it in undiluted juice straight from the bottle.

3. Keep Insects Out of the Kitchen
This is our biggest enemy I believed. You don’t need insecticides or ant traps to ant-proof your kitchen. Just give it the lemon treatment. First squirt some lemon juice on door thresholds and windowsills. Then squeeze lemon juice into any holes or cracks where the ants are getting in. Finally, scatter small slices of lemon peel around the outdoor entrance. The ants will get the message that they aren’t welcome. Lemons are also effective against roaches and fleas: Simply mix the juice of 4 lemons (along with the rinds) with 1/2 gallon (2 liters) water and wash your floors with it; then watch the fleas and roaches flee. They hate the smell.

4.Deodorize Your Garbage
If your garbage is beginning to smell yucky, here’s an easy way to deodorize it: Save leftover lemon and orange peels and toss them at the base under the bag. To keep it smelling fresh, repeat once every couple of weeks.

5. Clean and Whiten Nailslemon2
Save ur money on menicure & pedicure. 🙂 Add the juice of 1/2 lemon to 1 cup warm water and soak your fingertips in the mixture for 5 minutes. After pushing back the cuticles, rub some lemon peel back and forth against the nail.

6.Treat Flaky Dandruff
If itchy, scaly dandruff has you scratching your head, just massage two tablespoons lemon juice into your scalp and rinse with water. Then stir one teaspoon lemon juice into one cup water and rinse your hair with it. Repeat daily until your dandruff disappears.

7. Remove Warts (ketuat)warts
A
pply a dab of lemon juice directly to the wart using a cotton swab. Repeat for several days until the acids in the lemon juice dissolve the wart completely.

8. Boost Laundry Detergent
For more powerful cleaning action, pour 1 cup lemon juice into the washer during the wash cycle. The natural bleaching action of the juice will zap stains and remove rust and mineral discolorations from cotton T-shirts and briefs and will leave your clothes smelling fresh. Your clothes will turn out brighter and also come out smelling lemon-fresh.

9. Cleanse Your Face
Dab lemon juice on blackheads to draw them out during the day. You can also wash your face with lemon juice for a natural cleanse and exfoliation. Your skin should improve after several days of treatment. Lemon water is also a cooling agent, best way to beat the heat.

10. Make a Room Scent/Humidifier
Freshen and moisturize the air in your home by simmering water contain lemon peels, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and apple skins.

Syawal 1434 – Puasa 6

Harini dah 14 Syawal rupanya ye? Sekejap betul masa berjalan. Harini jugak I just started my first day of puasa 6. InsyaAllah azam tahun ni wanted to complete it. Selalu tak sempat habis. Dapat buat 2 – 3 hari je. Rasa sayang pulak. Tahun depan belum tentu dapat buat lagi kan. Since dah berpuasa harini, dah masuk petang2 macam gini kena la memikirkan menu iftar pulak. I’m not the type yang nak makan macam2 bila berbuka tu. Dapat minum segelas air pun syukur… Yang buat kena fikir tu sebab nak masak sekali untuk dinner nanti. Ada lagi 4 mulut yang makan kat rumah ni. Nak masak apa ye? Mmmmmmm… pi jengok pinterest jap la.

Kita memang suka tengok pinterest ni. Ada macam2 benda nak nengok. Paling suka tengok resepi la. Sapa2 yang suka menjahit, boleh jumpa patterns, tutorials. Sapa2 yang suka pasal decoration pun ada. Macam2 lagi la. It’s quite a useful site to look into.

Kat pinterest ni kita boleh groupkan our favourite things. Benda2 ni kita letak kat Board. Korang boleh create seberapa banyak board yang korang nak. Macam in my account (kita kena register ye; kalau tak register boleh jgk tapi tak boleh la nak save atau groupkan benda2 yang korang suka tu. Nanti hilang macam tu saja) I’ve created 22 boards which is on Cooking, Appetizers, Cookie, Cakes, Health & Beauty, Tips etc… Bila dah groupkan nanti senang nak cari.

Ehh dah cerita pasal pinterest pulak. Plan tadi nak cakap pasal resepi. Rasanya harini nak masak ni:

Prawn

Ini my favourite dish. Sedap tau and most important thing is that, it’s so simple. Resepi ni takde nama pun kat pin tu. But I called it Lemon & Butter Prawn. Here’s the recipe:

Udang (up to u guys)

1 stick of butter (lebihkurang setengah cawan)

1 lemon (thinly slice)

Italian seasoning (if u don’t have it, tak payah la susah2 nak gi beli. I just replace it with salt n pepper. Derhaka resepi namanya ni :))

Reminder: Sila guna mangkuk or bekas yang oven proof ye.

Methods:

Melt the butter in the oven proof dish or pan (kat atas dapur la ni). Slice one lemon and layer it on top of the butter. Put down fresh shrimp, then sprinkle one pack of dried italian seasoning (or salt n pepper). Put in the oven and bake at 350 for 15 min.

Senang kan? This will be the best shrimp you will ever taste:) Hehehe. Ada rasa lemak2 butter plus masam n pahit from the lemon. Udang pun rasa lemak sikit. Ooopss.. U may add some sugar if u like to. I did add  a spoonful sebab nak kurangkan rasa pahit lemon zest tu.

Tips – don’t overcooked ur shrimp. Nanti jadi keras n isi dia melekat kat kulit. Leceh nak kopek. Tengok bila kaler udang tu turned pink dah masak le tu.
